We need them for connection, although we also need space from them,
A lot of them bring us joy, yet others get on our nerves,
Some of them we can’t live without, while others we can’t bear to be around,
They lift us during our lowest times while testing us through our busiest times,
We gel so well with them at work, although others drag us down.
Humans.
I absolutely and utterly admire those who manage people, my full-blown respect goes out to you. Don’t get me wrong, I do love people, and I’m good at putting myself in others' shoes, but to manage a huge company full of different personalities, values, likes, and dislikes requires a great deal of patience, tolerance, time, and care, to name just a few.
Being a caregiver or parent to children while juggling other family issues, as well as working a full-time job, not only deserves a big award, but also daily rewards! I really hope you’re treating yourselves to some nice things.
My respect and admiration go out to anyone juggling and struggling in any situation, be it at work, at home, at school and especially in a part of the world that’s suffering.
How do you manage dealing with difficult people on a day-to-day basis?
What strategy do you implement when seeing others’ point of views?
How do you manage conflict at work and at home?
What do you do at home to get you through your family ups and downs?
I’d love to know your tips, please let me know in the comments 😊
Here’s a little tip from me:
I fully believe and I’ve tried it and tested it numerous times that the more we focus on how we are feeling in the present moment and the more we manage our breath deeply, the more we can significantly reduce our worry, fear, stress, and anxiety. This not only brings us back to the present moment, but it also has a rippling affect all around us at home, work and other places we interact.
Life is hard.
So deep breathing through the tough times really gives us power, space, patience, and a kick-start to keep on battling through.
You might be thinking that you have no time at all to do mindfulness, given how much you have on your plate and how flat out you are.
In that case I’d like you to invite mindfulness into your toilet time world.
No one can disturb you in there (I hope)
I strongly encourage you to adopt a mindfulness habit throughout your day as we need to take care of ourselves firstly before we can 100% give ourselves to others.
When we’re on a flight and they show us the safety measures in case of an emergency landing, they insist that we must put on our own oxygen masks before we can help others put on theirs.
They say ''we can’t pour from an empty glass’’ Or ''we can’t grow flowers from a nutrient-less soil''
Below are some different scenarios that you can try out, or you can even adapt your personal scenarios to these mindfulness exercises.
I invite you to:
Take a deep breath in on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Breathe out on the count of five,
Hold on the count of five,
Repeat for 5 minutes.
If there’s a specific state, you’d like to be such as being calm:
Breathe in calmness on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Breathe out stress on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Repeat this for 5 minutes.
If you’re dealing with difficult people:
Breathe in patience on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Breathe out ‘I release anger’ on the count of 5
Hold on the count of 5,
Repeat this for 5 minutes.
If you’re arguing a lot at home:
Breathe in ‘I go with the flow’ on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Breathe out ‘I release control’ on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Repeat this for 5 minutes.
If you’ve so much on your plate at home, work and everywhere else:
Breathe in ‘one step at a time, I’m doing my best’ on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Breathe out ‘some things can wait’ on the count of 5,
Hold on the count of 5,
Repeat this for 5 minutes.
I hope you’ve gotten some relief or ideas to implement into your life from this Mindfulness story.
I’d love to hear your stories too!
Take care and remember that your cared-for minds come first 😊
